Camping

In what concerns camping places, throughout ANP there are at present a few traditional camping areas. There is the Poiana Glăvoi – the area also known as “La Grajduri”, the Crăiasa Valley near the Bears Cave, and at the entrance on the Sighiştel Valley in Bihor County. Two more are in Cluj County, at Ic Ponor and in the area known as Ponor-Runcu Ars.

All these areas necessitate investments to ensure the necessary endowments (toilets, showers, parking lots etc.) to be able to function as true campings. In the Glăvoi area and on Crăiasa Valley, the Pietroasa Mayer office occasionally collects a camping fee.

Other camping areas are offered by local investors, especially in Alba County, owners of pensions or local people, on private lands, near their houses (for example, at "Mama Uţa" Pension in Gârda de Sus, or “La Mama” Pension in Boga).

A Mountain Rescue refuge functions during summer in the Poiana Glăvoi area, situated in the central area of the ANP, close to many of the most important tourist trails in the park. The refuge is managed by the Mountain and Cave Rescue Public Service of Bihor County, a team being permanently present throughout the tourist season, for assistance in case of accidents, as well for tourist information.

BECAUSE IN THE GLĂVOI CAMPING AREA THERE ARE NO TRASH DEPOSITING FACILITIES, WE KINDLY ASK YOU TO TRANSPORT ALL YOUR WASTES OUTSIDE OF THE PARK BORDER WHEN YOU  LEAVE !
