What is the Apuseni Nature Park Administration
The Apuseni Nature Park Administration (ANPA) has the authority to analyze, plan, survey and control activities on the Apuseni Nature Park territory. It functions in base of an administration contract signed between the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and National Forest Authority - Romsilva. Through this contract, NFA-Romsilva has taken the responsibility to endow and finance the park administration for its well functioning.

Structures in connection with the Park Administration
Besides the park administration there are two functional entities that were established in accordance with the Law 462/2001 provisions: the Consultative Council of the Administration (CCA) which gathers the main stakeholders (local public administrations, decentralized units from the governmental sector, economic agents, non-governmental organizations, etc.) and the Scientific Council, consisting of acknowledged scientific personalities and other specialists in this field, its composition being approved by a Ministry of Environment and Water Management Order.

The Consultative Council for Administration meets twice a year, once each semester, or whenever there it’s needed. During the meetings, or indirectly through written correspondence, the CCA analyses and makes proposals with regard to management solutions of the ANPA, or makes new management proposals.

The Scientific Council analysis the ANPA activity, coordinates it from the scientific point of view, and lays down annual reports to the central authority on the environment. Also, it analysis and approves the management solutions/measures proposed by the ANPA and/or the CCA, in order that the objectives of the management category are met, especially those regarding the biodiversity conservation, and the local natural and cultural values.

The role of the park administration
The ANPA does not administer lands directly, its role is to analyze, plan, supervise and control on the park territory, established through the Government Decision no. 230/2003, but also it can get involved in different other activities within the limits imposed by the current legislative framework. According to the administration contract, and also to Law 462/2001 and Ministry Order 552/2003, the ANPA is authorized to supervise and control activities such as: tourism, the way the exploitation of wood is made, pasturing, plant harvesting, hunting and fishing on park territory, constructions, etc.

Composition
According to the provisions of the GD 230/2003 and of the administration contract, there are 21 positions in the administration structure of the park, as follows: 6 persons at the main headquarters and 15 field agents (rangers).
