ATTENTION ! Road rehabilitation in Padis |
Due to the modernizing works on the County Road 763 and 108C between Pietroasa - Boga - Padiş chalet - Ic Ponor - Prislop - Răchiţele), the traffic is difficult! Several operations may require for the road to be closed at times, so you may have to wait. Between Ic Ponor and Padiş the road is not suitable, except for 4-weel-drive cars.
The tourists that want to access the Padiş plateau on foot, the least difficult trail is the one from the Vârtop holiday village (situated on the National Road 75, at 1100 m elevation). The RED STRIPE trail starting from the Alpin Guesthouse can be followed all the way to the Glăvoi camping area (it's a 3 h trip). It is possible to access the Vârtop area by public transportation (buses from Oradea, Beiuş, Ştei, Deva or Cluj-Napoca). |
